There’s been a good deal of feedback on the original post about the Paper Welder including some correspondence from the last owner of Paper Welder Inc., Thomas Mack. The initial post dated July 31, 2013 has been edited with many clarifications, a few corrections, and quite a bit of detail added. The only thing to add at this point is some very cool older ads from around the 1970’s. Enjoy!
Special thanks again to Thomas Mack for the above advertisements.

As they haven’t been manufactured for about 30 years you will have to look in antique shops, yard sales, estate sales, auction sites, and such. The good news is they were made for the better part of 50 years and they were very high quality so they’re out there if you’re willing to do a little work. Good luck!

This followup, along with the first article is very interesting; Thank you. I too am looking for a modern version that will do the same thing. The stapleless staplers that I can find on the market leave an ugly bulky mark on the paper… the Paper Welder left a bit of an imprint but it was not unattractive and didn’t leave any bulk. I’m hoping there is a device or process somewhere that can temporary put two pages together but can be separated if needed.
